If you have an existing Paxton Net2 system, you may be affected by the new version of software – version 7.
Paxton has announced that a new version of Net2 software — Version 7, due for release in the new year — will no longer support Net2 Classic door controllers.
What is a Net2 Classic Controller?
The Net2 Classic controller is a single-door entry control unit that Paxton discontinued in the UK in January 2014. Despite their age, many Classic controllers are still operating reliably more than 11 years later.
These controllers manage access through a door or entry point by communicating with the network to approve or deny user access.
Since 2014, the Net2 Plus controller has replaced the Classic unit. It is presumed that any installations carried out after this date would typically include Plus controllers. However, you can easily check your system to confirm whether any Classic controllers are still present.
